School of Seven Bells, aka SVIIB, is a band formed by former Secret Machines member Benjamin Curtis and twin sisters Alejandra and Claudia Deheza (Claudia has since left the band). Their third disc, Ghostory, came out last week.
I found the groups sound previously very etherial and shoegazer-ish, along the lines of Lush. This time around, I’m discovering this band is starting to move towards more of sound that makes me think of Ladytron or the Darling Buds if Elizabeth Frasier sang lead vocals.
Lafaye is the first single from the disc, but Scavenger was my first discovery of the groups’ new disc. See what you think.
