‘Girls’ is the brainchild of twentysomething wunderkind Lena Dunham, and follows the foibles and sexcapades of a group of post college graduates in Brooklyn. It’s a train wreck to watch. And I mean that in the best way possible; It’s funny, it’s quirky, and it’s downright embarrassing to see these girls flail through the mistakes they are making as they figure out how to be.
I Love it.
What great is that the music has been very keen as well. Robyn and Sleigh Bells have been featured on the show, and also make an appearance on the recently released soundtrack. Among the select tracks are two that I’m sharing here. First up is a new song from Santigold, aptly named Girls. The second song appeared in last week’s episode as Elijah and Hannah danced in a cocaine induced stupor, from last year, Icona Pop’s techno blast I Love It.
For shits and giggles, I threw in a clip from last season, when Shoshanna (played by David Mamet’s daughter Zosia) comes to the realization that it wasn’t pot that she just smoked in the line for the bathroom.
