Yuck, Rebirth

London indie band Yuck made two announcements back in April: one, they were recording their second disc, and two, that it would be without front man Daniel Blumberg, who was leaving to do his own thing.

Fast forward to today, when the now trio shares it’s first bit of new music. Rebirth is definitely a rebirth of sorts. The new track veers quite a bit away from the Dinosaur Jr. and Pavement leaning of their debut and more over to the shoegazer side of things, ala MBV and Slowdive. Guitarist Max Bloom assumes the lead vocals role on this track, and presumably on the rest of the disc.

It’s a beautiful and enchanting track, it’s just not quite the same sound that we heard last time. But let’s see where the rest of the album goes. It’s due later this year. In the meantime enjoy this for what it is. You can even download it for free here. It’s new music you should love.
