SOTD: Lush, I Have The Moon

Let’s take a trip back to the mid 1990’s for this song of the day.

Nowhere (1997)

I Have The Moon, as performed by Brit shoegazers Lush, is a cover of a Magnetic Fields’ song. The track was featured in the Gregg Araki film Nowhere, part of his ‘Teen Apocalypse Trilogy’, which includes the 93’s film Totally Fucked Up and 1995’s The Doom Generation.

Araki just premiered White Bird In A Blizzard at Sundance this weekend, and was talking about his love of late 80’s music, which is what took me back to some of his 90’s films soundtracks. He definitely has a soft spot for shoegazer music, as reflected by the inclusion of Lush on this particular soundtrack.

Enjoy today’s song of the day, from 1997. Just some more music you really should love.
