Alvvays, Archie, Marry Me

This song reminds me of my trip to Portland last month and the road trip I took with two of my friends down the Oregon coast.

Toronto band Alvvays (pronounced ‘always’) released their self titled debut album back in July. The band ‘s sound is a throwback to late 80’s/ early 90’s college radio: low-fi analog tape fuzz and surf guitar jangle with 60’s radio pop flavoring. The band’s music would have fit in nicely next to the Candyskins and Liz Phair on 120 Minutes.

Archie, Marry Me is just really easy and cool. Definitely perfect for a late summer/ early fall Sunday afternoon drive.
