Bully, Trying

90’s grrrlll rock rocks!

Bully is out of Nashville, and was one of the bands I caught at last week’s Pitchfork Fest. Their debut album, Feels Like, came out in June. It’s very mid 1990’s indie girl rock ala Veruca Salt and Eve’s Plumb. Plus, band founder Alicia Bognanno interned at Steve Albini’s Electric Studio here in Chicago, so that may have influenced their sound a bit.

Trying is one of the tracks from the album. It’s fun, light, and rote, but it makes me nostalgic too. So win. Nothing wrong with some lively retro sounding indie rock.
