New Order, Tutti Frutti

New Order’s Music Complete came out Friday. Full of some very pleasant surprises.

Why they dropped a milquetoast single like Restless is beyond me, when they have some serious tracks on the album that scream, ‘This is New Order.’

Tutti Frutti is a stand out track, and one I feel could have been lifted from Technique. It’s gloriously euro-disco with a great groove and even a the occasional punch of a slightly affected accent intoning the song title through out. And it’s a perfect showcase for Gillian Gilbert’s return to the fold. Oh yeah, La Roux’s Elly Jackson is featured on backing vocals here too.

Love it.
