Lush, Out of Control

British shoegazer/ Brit pop stalwarts Lush have returned after a 20 year hiatus…without missing a beat.

Recently reunited after their mid 1990’s breakup after the death of Chris Acland, the quartet (Emma Anderson, Miki Berenyi and Phil King along with new drummer and Acland friend, Justin Welsh of Elastica) are touring and recording again. The first of the new music has arrived, and it’s pure Lush.

Out of Control is the first track from the forthcoming Blind Spot EP, out in April. From the sound of this, the band hasn’t tried to recreate the wheel or go in some weird direction: it’s back to their roots with a waltz-beat dreamy track. It’s exactly what we need to hear from a band that left the music scene way too soon.

Better believe, you need to love this. Welcome back, Lush. You’ve been missed.
