#TBT: The Verve, Slide Away

Pitchfork Media released their Top 50 Shoegazer Albums list this week. I was surprised, I agreed with nearly everything on it. It’s practically one of my mix tapes from my college days.

In the top 10 was an album that was released in 1993. I remember when I first heard the Verve and their debut album, A Storm In Heaven. It was at Bethany College, at WVBC, the radio station where I was music director; and long before Bittersweet Symphony.

It was the bliss of Slide Away.
